Happy to have Andres with us this week so we can take a look at what is on at the movies. This week a movie called “Killers of the Flower Moon”. It has a legendary director Martin Scorcese Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro. So what was Andres’s conclusion? “An amazing film that won’t be seen by a lot of people. Martin Scorcese, probably one of the best Directors of all time, makes another crime filled adult drama with both of his long-time collaborators (Leo Dicaprio 6th film, Robert DeNiro 9th film) and together make a great film. Couple of things that are against it: it’s very long (almost 3 and half hours long) and it’s a very American story, so markets outside the US won’t really connect to it.”
In the last hour today we link up for a while with the vessel “Plastic Odyssey” that is visiting Panama, and chat with President and Co Founder Simon Bdernard.
Panama City, Panama, October 19, 2023. The French-flagged vessel Plastic Odyseey that promotes the reduction of oceans with plastic waste will visit Panama from October 30 to November 8 where it will offer talks and visits to raise awareness in relation to need to avoid pollution of the seas with this type of waste. This stop in Panama is number 14 of a tour of 30 stops over three weeks on three continents as part of an expedition that travels the planet in search of solutions to build a world without plastic.
Data from the World Bank indicates that Panama generates 191,580 tons of plastic waste each year and is the second largest producer of waste in Latin America. The Plastic Odyseey project acts on land in the most affected areas to reduce plastic pollution in the sea. Starting October 1, 2022 and for the next three years , the Plastic Odyssey team of explorers will travel the world to discover, reference and share practical solutions to the plastic waste crisis. The last of the ship’s stops took place in the city of Cartagena de Indias, in Colombia, where the ship was visited by school students and professionals who work for the decline of the oceans due to this class. of waste.
