Ingrid checks in from El Valle today, but it has been cold. Yes Ingrid reports in and tells us about the need for blankets to keep warm, and umbrellas to keep of the rain which should not be here!!
In the last hour today we have Jennifer Gil-Acevedos with us, she is an algae scientist and National Geographic Explorer. The National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions cruise travels from Costa Rica to the Panama Canal, stopping at key locations such as Isla Coiba and Bocas del Toro.
During this expedition, she collected microalgae from various sites and shared her research with passengers. She has studied microalgae throughout the Panama Canal, and her other National Geographic research focused on sargassum algae in the Caribbean. In that project, she taught communities affected by sargassum how to create products from it.
