In the country, 1,022 new positive cases were registered in the last 24 hours, for a cumulative total of 433,545, since March 2020 when the first contagion was re-reported in Panama. This was announced by the Ministry of Health (MInsa) through its epidemiological report on Thursday, in which it also indicates that 6 deaths were reported and 1 death from a previous day is updated, so now the deaths they add up to 6,798. The new infections were known after 12,646 tests were applied, which yielded a positivity of 8%. The report adds that active cases to date total 12,629 and patients recovered from the disease are 414,118. There are 12,100 people in home isolation, of which 11,771 are at home and 329 in hospital hotels. There are 547 hospitalized patients and 447 of them are in the ward and 100 are in the intensive care unit.
As of Monday, August 9, the second anticovid dose of AstraZeneca will be applied in the express car located at the Rommel Fernández stadium, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported.
