The deaths caused by Covid-19 increased to 1,397 and the accumulated cases to 64,191, after 23 new deaths and 922 new infections were registered in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) in its epidemiological report, this Thursday, July 30, reported that the number recovered from the new coronavirus are 38,218, while the active cases total 24,576.

The Guatemalan attorney general, María Consuelo Porras Argueta, presented an amparo of constitutional guarantees, “by virtue of the certain, real and imminent threat” that the Central American Parliament (Parlacen) presents by swearing in Ricardo Alberto and Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares as alternate deputies of that body.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Héctor Alexander , presented this Thursday, July 30, to the National Assembly the draft of the general state budget for 2021, for an amount of 24,088.9 million dollars.

During the meeting on Thursday, July 30, Raúl Pineda, deputy chairman of the Economy and Finance Commission, suggested to the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI) that he present a bill before the National Assembly to collect taxes from sales platforms, like Uber, Appetito and Amazon.
