“FUNDACIÓN SABER BEBER” DONATES 60 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO BARTENDERS OF PANAMA
Panama, May 21, 2020- The Saber Beber Foundation, which brings together producers and
importers of wines, beers and spirits from Panama, in order to promote responsible consumption
of alcohol, will make a donation of $ 60,000 to help to 400 bartenders who are currently
registered in the membership lists of the Association of Restaurants, Bars and Clubs (ARBYD).
The Saber Beber Foundation, aware of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has generated on
jobs in the Bars, Clubs and Restaurants sector, has decided to provide each of these 400 people
with a one-time donation of $ 150, which may be used in different stores for the purchase of basic
necessities through Banistmo & Nequi® platform.

The members of the Saber Beber Foundation: Cervecería Nacional, Felipe Motta, DIAGEO, Global
Brands, Pernod Ricard, Spirits Wine Group and Varela Hermanos together raised $ 55,000 for the
donation; Additionally, the representatives of Jack Daniels in Panama joined this initiative with the
contribution of $ 5,000 to reach the total amount of $ 60,000 to be donated.

Marcella Vallarino, president of the Saber Beber Foundation comments: “From the Saber Beber
Foundation we are working to ensure that workers in industry and related sectors have safety and
health; but, in addition, we are implementing initiatives to bring direct help to those most in need;
For this reason, we will be making a contribution of 150 dollars to each of those people who are
key to achieving our mission, which is to promote responsible consumption in Panama. In the
current situation, it is essential that we all join efforts for our country. ”

On the other hand, Mario Luis González on behalf of ARBYD tells us that "the Foundation has been
in solidarity with the impact that the COVID-19 crisis is having on all the people who work in our
industry, and thanks the Fundación Saber Beber the donation to be made to 400 bartenders to
alleviate the situation.
