What a treat for us this morning, in the last hour I have the pleasure of connecting up with Idania Dowman. We chat about her career, love of music and the new album “Al Desnudo”. Idania is not just a Panamanian icon but also Internationally, here are some with whom she has shared the stage with Pedro Brull of Puerto Rico, Albita de Cuba, Wichy Camacho, Camilo Azuquita, Yvon Kapi André de Haiti (one of the leaders of Taboo Combo), Gillo de Trinidad and Tobago, Judi Silvano of the United States, Mayito and his group of Cuba, Basilio, Herbie Hancock United States and others.
She has had the honor of opening concerts for artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Raúl Di Blasio and Kenny G among others. She has represented Panama at festivals and special events in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, United States.
Idania received a PhD in Art, Career in Music, Art and Culture from the United Graduate College and Seminary International (Washington DC), the College of Art and Entertainment Department.
Also receiving recognition by the University of Panama, 2012, in the framework of the celebration of the Black Ethnicity, by artistic trajectory, musical and cultural contribution. Contribution and development of Jazz in Panama.
