The Ministry of Health (Minsa) highlighted in its epidemiological report this Sunday, November 15, that 1,344 new positive cases of Covid-19 were detected.  In addition, in the country in the last 24 hours 6 new deaths have been reported due to the disease caused by the new coronavirus. This Sunday in the country there are 125,370 patients recovered from the disease caused by Covid-19.  While with the 1,344 new positive cases in Panama, according to the Minsa, in the last 24 hours 9,906 tests were applied, for a percentage of positivity of 13.6%. With the 6 new deaths in the country, 2,873 accumulated deaths and a fatality of 2.0% remains.

Health authorities presented, on Sunday, two reports related to the death of a group of patients with Covid-19 in the Arnulfo Arias Madrid hospital complex of the Social Security Fund (CSS).

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) reported, this Sunday, November 15, that there are 12 people who have not been located, after the heavy rains and landslides registered at the beginning of this month of November by cyclone Eta, which affected mostly the province of Chiriquí .

Tropical storm Iota became, in the early hours of this Sunday, a category 1 hurricane (out of a maximum of 5). Iota represents a new threat to Nicaragua and Honduras recently affected by the passage of cyclone Eta, announced the National Hurricane Center of Miami, United States.

The Comptroller General of the Republic maintains a default with the macroeconomic figures for the second quarter of this year, a period in which the hardest days of the confinement were experienced.

As of November 23, the departure of people from the Guna Yala region to the cities of Panama will be suspended. This was ordered by the General Congress of Guna Yala, in a statement released this Sunday. The measure will be until further notice is given. The indigenous congress announced that the “controlled” entry of people from Panama to Guna Yala will be maintained, “following existing protocols”.

The National Association of Relatives, Friends and People with Schizophrenia and other Mental Illnesses (Anfapeem) requested by letter to the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, to sanction bill 314 that establishes public policies on mental health, which has already been approved in third debate in the National Assembly.
