Having had the last week off with an old friend (John Williams) who was visiting Panama for the first time. We talk a bit about perceptions and experiences, in life and those here in Panama. How does it rate as a tourist destination?

In the last hour today we have as our guest a very talented young man, Carlos Vallarino, Singer and songwriter. We chat about his love of music, how he started playing the guitar at just seven. Today guitar in hand he plays live for us.



Just two months before the presidential elections and with the trial against the Catalan dissident politicians at stake, the socialist government of Pedro Sánchez prefers to maintain a discreet profile and not cause a stir among its European partners. Therefore, it will not seek support to boycott the list of countries with money laundering deficiencies published by the European Commission (EC) .

The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation announced that it had opened an investigation following the criminal complaint filed by the Comptroller General of the Republic, Federico Humbert, for  the alleged crime against the public administration in its embezzlement modality, in which officials and former employees of the Panamanian Autonomous Cooperative Institute (Ipacoop).

With the arrival of the Carnival the health authorities of Los Santos asked the population to take extreme hygiene measures to avoid contagion with the hanta virus, which last year left three dead in the province and so far in 2019 has made another 13 people ill.

A group of farmers from the Azuero have asked the government of the president, Juan Carlos Varela, to dredge water reservoirs built in the area, to store enough water for crops and animals during this dry season.

Guillermo Sánchez Borbón , the author of El Ahogado and of the historical column  Pocas Palabras of La Prensa,  newspaper of which he was director emeritus, died on Sunday afternoon, February 24, at the National Hospital of Panama City. He was 94 years old.
