Welcome to Monday! It is that time of the month to take a look at the new edition of “The Panama Good Times” and find out what is happening around Panama with Austin Hess.


My guest in the last hour today is the man responsible for bringing into law the requirement of the Public sector to submit to the need to recycle. Edison Broce who has held the position as a suplente (a stand in) for one of the legislators of the National Assembly sets his sights on higher responsibility when it comes to riding Panama of one use plastics by the year 2020.


President  Juan Carlos Varela trusts that the  General State Budget for the year 2019 will be approved by the National Assembly  before October 31, when the ordinary sessions end .

A little over 3.7 million of the country’s 4.1 million inhabitants are covered by the Social Security Fund (CSS) , which represents 90% of social security affiliates, detailed on Sunday, October 28, a report from the institution .

The Attorney General of the Administration, Rigoberto González, filed an appeal before the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court requesting the revocation of the admission of the lawsuit filed by Abdul Waked.

The  Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is committed to the diversification of cargo and water routes to minimize the impact that the increase in tariffs on imports and exports between the United States (US) and China, the two main users of the water route could have on Canal revenues.
