We say goodbye to the month of November. I have two ladies as my guests in the eight o’clock hour today Cristina Troya & Margaret Garcia from AVACA. AVACA is a voluntary organization with the VISION of preserving the unique heritage of Casco Antiguo and ensuring a safe, caring and vibrant community and space for residents and visitors.
AVACA’s MISSION is to enhance, engage and represent our diverse neighborhood through the following.
– Advocacy – Representing the interests of our community before various governmental institutions to advocate for optimal governance within the historic center.
– Communication – Disseminating key information to the community.
– Resolving issues – Including social housing, solid waste management, and nuisances including noise, mobility and best use of public spaces.
This is now the second year that AVACA is having a “Door Auction”. These are old doors from Casco Antiguo that have been painted by local and some Internationally acclaimed artists.
