The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Sunday afternoon, that in the previous 24 hours, 22 new deaths from coronavirus were reported , for a total of 1,471 deaths since the virus appeared in the country.

To date, a cumulative total of 67,453 cases is reported. In the last 24 hours, 1,070 new cases were reported, after the application of 3,235 new tests (33% positivity).

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) made a new request for the hiring of specialist doctors who will join the team that copes with the SARS-CoV-2 virus produced by Covid-19.

Some areas of the Ciudad de la Salud project would be used as a “contingency” to attend to the health emergency caused by Covid-19 in Panama.

659 people were detained, in different parts of the country, for not complying on Saturday, August 1, 2020 with the curfew measure decreed with the aim of lowering cases of the Covid-19 disease.
