Mariola Vasquez joins me on the phone this morning. The government has recently started the ID Bonus payments. The system works as a debit card utilizing the person’s identity card. We chat with Marriola among other things, about the means of checking the validity, in other words that it has been processed and the funds are available. The money ($80) can only be used to purchase food, cleaning materials and medications.
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that upto this Sunday, May 3, there have been 200 deaths due to coronaviruses in Panama and the total number of those infected 7,197.Lourdes Moreno, head of epidemiology at Minsa, said that the country has carried out 34,459 tests for Covid-19, and in the last 24 hours they applied 1,105 new tests, of which 107 were positive.
Of the six districts that make up the province of Coclé, is Penonomé which has the largest number of Covid-19 cases, according to statistical data from the Ministry of Health.
