Today, 1962 – Izzy Stradlin American guitarist, singer and songwriter, from Guns N’ Roses. Their 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction reached No.1 on the Billboard chart a year after its release, on the strength of ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’, the band’s only single to reach No.1. The album has sold approximately 30 million copies worldwide, including 18 million in the US, making it the best-selling debut album of all time as well as the eleventh best-selling album in the US.
