The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported this Wednesday, April 14, that in the last 24 hours 4 new deaths have been reported from Covid-19 and 395 new positive cases have been registered. The total number of deaths from this virus amounts to 6,177, according to the epidemiology report. On Wednesday, 9,084 tests have been applied, for a percentage of positivity of 4.3% Active cases amount to 4,021. In home isolation, 3,556 are reported, of which 3,347 are at home and 209 in hotels. The hospitalized number 465 and of them 404 are in the wards and 61 in intensive care units.

The Metropolitan Regional Health Directorate reported that after two days of vaccination -Monday and Tuesday- in circuit 8-8, at least 26,000 doses have been applied against Covid-19. According to figures from health authorities, 11,897 doses were applied on Monday, while on Tuesday, 14,997 for a total of 26,597 in two days.

By majority, the Budget Commission of the National Assembly approved to summon the Ministers of Economy and Finance, the Health Minister and the director of the Social Security Fund for April 21. Ocelot

Some good news. An ocelot was rescued this Wednesday by a driver on the David-Boquete road, on the bridge over the Majagua River, after the animal was apparently run over by a vehicle, but it only resulted in injuries to its front legs. In the province of Chiriquí, so far this year, some 14 endangered animal species have been rescued, including: a squirrel monkey, green iguana, raccoon, porcupine, sloth, Corsican deer, X snake, pigeon, turtle and now this ocelot that moved near the bridge over the Majagua River, between the districts of Dolega and David.
