Today we talk about cleaning up the world! Our guest is Francisco Pizarro, representative for “Let’s Do It!” in Panama and national coordinator for “World Clean Up Day Panama”.

WORLD CLEANUP DAY

World Cleanup Day 2021 brought together more than 60 million people in 191 countries and territories for the largest waste collection day in human history. An epic 36-hour green cleanup wave across the globe, starting in New Zealand and traveling around the globe before ending in Hawaii. In Panama since 2018 we have managed to unite more than 20,000 volunteers in the 10 provinces; with the goal of uniting 5% of the population in 1 day of action in the short term.

World Cleanup Day will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2022. On that day, volunteers and allies from around the world will come together again to rid our planet of litter: cleaning up trash and debris from our beaches, rivers, forests and streets of our communities. Our perspective includes students, NGOs, local authorities, celebrities, waste management companies, media (TV, radio & Digital) and private partners (global corporations and local organizations).
