Our special guests in the last hour today are Myrja Ceballos Molina and David Olmedo from Fundacion Corazones Nuevos. The Corazón Nuevo Foundation was established in 2016 after the first heart transplant in Panama. Since then, the foundation’s mission has been to provide financial support to individuals requiring heart transplants and to promote organ donation in the country.Since then, 4 heart transplants have already been successfully performed in Panama, but a lot of money is needed to achieve this surgical intervention (about half a million dollars is the cost of this operation). In fact, through this way, we would like to request the collaboration of all the Panamanian people, to support us in
this cause, through our yapy account. You can find us in the menu as “Corazón Nuevo” During this month, the New Heart Foundation, will be spreading through its social networks, website important information concerning the care of the heart to improve and maintain a healthy life, because in Panama, high blood pressure is the leading cause of death.We will also be present at health fairs (Universidad Maritima Internacional, offering services of blood pressure, glycemia and weight, within a health fair organized for students of this house of study and which will also be providing information on heart transplantation and organ and tissue donation).
