Welcome to the first day of December!
We are joined by Carolina Freire who is up in Washington at the moment) of the Fundacion Voluntarios de Panama. Carolina is the founder of Volunteers of Panama. Organization that mobilizes and connects Panamanians with the causes and organizations that need them. She is a social protection and health consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and has a degree in International Politics.
National Volunteer Day (December 5) is approaching and there´s the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the citizens who are working selflessly in favor of their communities and who every day contribute to the construction of a better country, fair and supportive. With the objective of recognizing the work of volunteers who donate their time, skills, and talent, we will be holding a Volunteer Fair, open to the public on Monday, December 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Inter-American University of Panama, highlighting the work of more than 40 Social Organizations, in addition to a Magisterial Conference by Dacil Acevedo on “Solidarity through volunteering in Latin America”. And to close the delivery of recognition to outstanding volunteers who have been nominated by their respective NGOs.
