The Internet of Things is our topic this morning with Dr Computer Alex Neuman and special guest Sn Adriano Del Valle. The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
In todays final hour it is great to welcome back to the show Guido Berguido who is the founder of Adopta Bosque. And of course Earth Day is a great opportunity to reassess how we value Nature around us. Historically in Panama, we have viewed the Rainforest as a wasteland waiting to be “Developed”. This involved clear cutting and burning old-growth forest for pastureland or farmland.
It is critical that our population changes that archaic view and instead we start recognizing the true value of our Rainforest. From ecosystemic services like oxygen and water generation, to sources of medicinal plants, and even for the economic potential in the development of ecotourism ventures. Additionally, there is the intangible role nature plays in the emotional well-being of humans, especially during this challenging Pandemic times.
We will discuss the multiple reasons why we should Adopt our Rainforest for the benefit of both People and Nature.
