The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Tuesday, that in the last hours 29 new deaths from Covid-19 and 1,936 new cases have been registered. With these new figures, the total number of deaths in the country amounts to 3,241 and a fatality of 1.8%.  In the last 24 hours they have applied 11,254 tests, for a percentage of positivity of 17.2%.

The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre , announced on Monday, December 7, a new schedule for the curfew and the application of the dry law in the province of Panama, given the increase in cases of Covid-19, which are being registered in the region. Sucre specified that the new measure would take effect as of yesterday Tuesday, December 8, and will be from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Within these hours the mobility of people, and the consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages are prohibited. In addition, the delivery service for the delivery of liquor is not permitted.

The members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of West Panama are opposed to the request made by the Council of La Chorrera to establish a more rigorous curfew on Saturdays and Sundays in that district.

Two consecutive issues affecting the Chitré water treatment plant had left several sectors of the district without potable water.
