It is a big welcome to the Breakfast show this morning to Carlos Owens and Hugo Andrade from the band Komodo. Just back from a successful performance at the Waken Festival in Germany. The story begins in 2014 as a cover project for bands like Megadeth and Metallica. The excellent chemistry between the members motivated them to repeat it and stay together under the name of Komodo.
At the beginning of 2015, Komodo premiered its first songs Out Of Luck and One More Fight live from the Odebrecht Rock Festival, which earned the band first place in the contest among 45 participating national bands. In the middle of the same year, Komodo produces its first professional single: Out Of Luck.
In 2016 Komodo qualifies for the Central American Final of the Metal Battle of Wacken Open Air, held at the Megametal festival, San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
In 2020 Komodo once again qualifies as the representative of Panama for the Central American Final of the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle. However, the 2020 and 2021 editions were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Central American Final of the Metal Battle of Wacken Open Air is held in Guatemala City on April 9, 2022, where Komodo obtains victory in a contest of 6 Central American bands and obtains the pass to the World Final of the Metal Battle of Wacken Open Air which was held in August 2022, in Germany.
