The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) , of this Monday, reveals that in the last 24 hours there were 132 new infections of Covid-19 , which brings the total number of cases to 476,129. Regarding the new deaths, it was known that it was one for an accumulated of 7,354 deaths and a fatality of 1.5%. To ascertain the new cases of Covid-19, 3,590 tests were applied for a positivity of 3.6%. While the active cases are 2,455, of which 2,345 are in home isolation and 110 remain hospitalized. Those who are in home isolation are divided into 2,271 at home and 74 in hospital hotels, while there are 90 patients in the wards and 20 in the intensive care unit.
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Monday that several points were enabled to continue with the immunization process against the coronavirus, including shopping centers in the metropolitan area. From yesterday, Monday, until Saturday, November 27, there will be several immunization points in the 8-7 circuit, which includes seven corregimientos of the district of Panama.
A new chapter in the struggle between the two factions within the Democratic Change (CD) was registered this Monday, when a complaint was filed with the Court of Honor and Discipline of that party. This is a legal appeal filed by the CD prosecutor, Raúl Andrade, with the objective of initiating a process of expulsion and revocation of mandate against 15 deputies, who oppose the management of Rómulo Roux , president of CD. According to Andrade, these deputies have breached “the duties and rights established by the statutes” by not following the guidelines dictated by the party’s Board of Directors on June 29, through a statement. That day, CD announced that he would run with his own candidate for the presidency of the National Assembly.

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), confirmed yesterday morning that the body was located without vital signs of the person who disappeared Sunday after the flood of a river in the Bayano sector, eastern Panama. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon, when a head of water surprised a group of tourists in a cave in the Bayano sector, in Chepo. With the confirmation of the death of the person who was reported missing, the result of the tragedy is 3 deaths and 13 rescued, the latter were taken to a medical center to receive the respective care. Sinaproc reported that the group included 11 Panamanians, 1 Canadian and 4 Venezuelans.
The Public Ministry reported on the afternoon of this Monday, November 22, that two people were notified of the arrest warrant that was issued against them as part of the investigation of an alleged embezzlement in the National Charity Lottery. These are two men who do not work in the entity and who went to the offices of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor on a voluntary basis together with their lawyers.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, Jose Ramón Icaza,revealed that the union he presides over asked the government of President Laurentino Cortizo to review the rule that regulates price control in Panama. Icaza said that on the basis that price controls are still in force in the country, they made the request to the authorities. “We reiterate as a Chamber of Commerce that price control must be eliminated,” reiterated the business leader.
