Andres Clemente

Happy to have with us this morning for our regular movie slot… Andres Clemente. This week he has been taking a look at “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”. It has been a long time since the release of the original, March of 1988. So how does the new one shape up?  Andres’ final comments: After 30 plus years Beetlejuice returns, so, does this film measure up to its predecessor or is it just a cheap money grab for people involved? The result is a little of both.  The film has the original’s charm, and the original cast bring their A game to the proceedings, but the lack of focus of the story and amount of characters and storylines take away from the main storyline, which is Lydia Deetz returning to her childhood home and trying to save her daughter from eternal damnation with the help of Beetlejuice. Still, its a must watch for fans of the original.

In the last hour of todays program our guest is Juan Posada, Editorial Coordinator and Regional Scientific advisor for MarViva. Who likes Ceviche? Shark Ceviche? Well, that is our topic.

MarViva Foundation launched a campaign that promotes the seal “Shark Free Ceviche”, which invites ceviche consumers to look for it in restaurants and supermarkets, and thus enjoy this culinary delight of Panamanian cuisine, without having to affect endangered species, such as sharks.

In the absence of government policies and regulations about the capture and commercialization of sharks, MarViva Foundation has resorted to trusting in the power of the people, consumers and entrepreneurs, who through the Shark Free Ceviche seal, will be able to offer a product so desired by the local palate, with the confidence that sharks or endangered species are not being used in its preparation, thereby contributing to the conservation of our marine diversity and the health of the oceans.
