Our Special guest this morning in the second hour is the newly elected Representative for the San Francisco area of Panama City, Serena Vamvas. With 87% of the votes count had received 8,642 votes, leading her closest rival Narciso Arellano of the Vamos movement who had 5,197 votes at around 4:30 AM. This suggests Vamvas was ahead by around 3,445 votes at that point in the counting.The results also indicate she defeated the incumbent PRD representative Carlos Pérez Herrera, who received only 2,376 votes, as well as independent candidate Ido Karisi with 3,075 votes. Serena talks with us about her plans for reviving the area as well as cultural events.
Yazmin takes a look at who was born on this day in music, here is one I remember from when I was 14!! 1937 – American singer, guitarist Trini Lopez, who scored the 1963 US No.3 & UK No.4 single ‘If I Had A Hammer’. Other hits included ‘Lemon Tree’, ‘I’m Comin’ Home, Cindy’ and ‘Sally Was a Good Old Girl’.
