Movie time on today’s program, Andres is with us, but this week all three of us have been to see the prerelease of “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes”. Well we all enjoyed it and we all voted a 3.5 out of 5, not bad. Andres gives us his overview. “A franchise that did not really go out with a bang the first time around, returns with an interesting story about their main villain. Even though the acting is not bad, and there are some great lines of dialogue, the story falls a bit flat. I wonder if it will make enough money to garner a sequel and finish the story of Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird.”
We have our chat with Yazmin in the last hour and also take a look at who was born on this day in the world of music. One of my favorites from the 1960’s. 1932: British singer, actress, and composer Petula Clark, who had the 1961 UK No.1 single ‘Sailor’, and the 1967 UK No.1 single ‘This Is My Song’, plus over 15 other UK Top 40 singles. She scored the 1965 US No.1 ‘Downtown’, becoming the first UK female singer to score a No.1 single in the US.
