The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) of this Tuesday, December 1 registers 1,505 new infections of Covid-19 and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. These figures increase the accumulated cases of the new coronavirus to 167,311 and deaths rise to 3,098, reported Leonardo Labrador, head of Epidemiology at the Minsa. The epidemiologist of the Minsa also announced that the effective reproductive number of cases (Rt) or average value of the contagion rate, increased to 1.24. Last week, the Rt was 1.17. The ideal value is 1 or below 1.

The Minister of Health Luis Francisco Sucre announced this Tuesday, December 1, that as of this Friday, December 4, a new curfew schedule begins in the province of West Panama, given the increase in cases of Covid- 19 in that region. The new curfew will be Monday through Sunday from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, Sucre said. It also reported that it was decided to prohibit the sale of liquor from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
