Movie review day with Andres Clemente. In fact we have two movies today “Jungle Cruise” Staring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. Also “Old” Staring Gabriel Garcia Bernal and Vicky Krieps, Yazmin went to see this and also gives us her p0int of view. So starting with Jungle Cruise here is Andres’s summation….
“Can Jungle Cruise be the next Pirates of the Caribbean for Disney? It seems unlikely cause of the adult appeal that Pirates had, but it does have the potential to be a very profitable franchise for both Disney and Dwayne Jonhson, which now has Jumanji, Hobbs and Shaw, Black Adam and Jungle Cruise on his franchise resume. Jungle Cruise is a fun adventure romp that showcases its lead’s chemistry, fast dialogue and some cool action set pieces. It feels like the first good Summer Blockbuster.”
The Second Movie “Old”….
“Old is a clear example why M. Night Shyamalan could use a writing partner. The script is complete with exposition dialogue and illogical narratives to fit the story. Still he has a style and creativeness that make his films incredibly entertaining.”
And Yazmin takes a look at this day in music: The Troggs were at No1 on the UK Singles chart with “A Girl Like You” their only No1 hit, and Happy Birthday to Louis Armstrong.
