The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) highlighted this Tuesday, April 6, that seven new deaths are reported in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19. In addition, a death from previous days was updated. With the new deaths in the country, 6,146 are accumulated, according to the Minsa. According to the figures released this Tuesday, 357 new cases are registered in the country, for a cumulative of 356,913. While in the country there are 4,614 active cases. In addition, those recovered this Tuesday add up to 434 and the accumulated would be 346,153. According to the entity, 10,381 new tests were carried out on April 6, for a percentage of positivity of 3.4%, the lowest since the pandemic began in the country.

At least 1,200 educators received their first dose of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine on Monday, in circuit 8-6 (San Miguelito district). This Monday began the stage of vaccinating teachers, as part of the plan of “gradual return” to blended classes in the country.

Chancellor Erika Mouynes reported this Tuesday, April 6, that during this second quarter more vaccines would arrive in the country from Pfizer compared to the first months of this year.

After the enactment of Law No. 208 of April 6, 2021, the general tax amnesty for the payment of taxes is extended. The new legislation establishes that tax obligations not fulfilled since January 31, 2021 and with earlier dates can reach agreements and take advantage of the extension of the tax amnesty, saving 85% in interest, surcharges and penalties.

A lawsuit of unconstitutionality against several articles of the Panamanian State General Budget law was presented in the Supreme Court of Justice this Tuesday, by representatives of the Judicial Council of Panama. The Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos , clarified on the afternoon of this Tuesday, April 6, that the gradual resumption of blended classes will be only in 427 public educational centers.
