Lourdes Moreno – Get well soon.

The latest epidemiological report from the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reveals that 29 people have died in the last 24 hours as a result of Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 799.  The epidemiologist of the Minsa, Rocío Arjona, said that the accumulated cases increased to 40,291, after 957 new ones were registered. The new cases were detected after 2,427 new tests were carried out, reaching a total of 150,542 tests applied.

Lourdes Moreno , Chief of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and in charge of giving the updated figures on the progress of the coronavirus in Panama in recent months , was sent to quarantine on the recommendation of doctors from the Santo Tomás Hospital.

Although the increasing appearance of new cases of Covid-19 in the country alarms the population due to the pressure it imposes on the health care system, experts from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) consider it “good”.

Ricardo Alberto and Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares , arrested on Monday in Guatemala, were taken to a duty court this Tuesday, to begin the process of their eventual extradition to the United States, where they are required for an alleged conspiracy to launder money.

Ricardo Alberto and Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares have not been sworn in as deputies of the Central American Parliament (Parlacen) , reported on Tuesday July 7 by the parliamentarian Gilberto Sucari, who is vice president of that regional body.

The health crisis caused by Covid-19 and the containment measures to curb the contagion have generated changes in the way of working of thousands of companies in the country.
